Stamp of 12-stamp set issued to honor Centenary of UIT (= Union Internationale des Télécommunications [International Telecommunication Union]). It commemorates the achievement of unmanned space probe LUNA 3 (aka LUNIK 3) that on 7 October 1959 photographed the other (dark) side of the Moon and transferred the image onto Earth. It shows imaginary graphic representation of the probe taking photographs of the invisible side of the Moon.
