Business stationery (postcard, back of) used by the company THE BRITANNIA WORKS Co. Ltd., in Ilford (Great Britain), manufacturer of photographic gelatin dry plates and chemicals. The company was founded in 1879 by British pioneer of photography Alfred Hugh Harman (1841 – 1913) as “Britannia Works”. Later there were introduced changes of the company name: → “Britannia Works Company Limited” [1891], → “Ilford Limited” [1901]”.
