Postcard (back of) used for commercial correspondence by the company PHOTAX in Soestduinen (a district of the municipality Soest), manufacturer of dry plates. The company was founded in 1919, and production was started in 1923. Initially three types of photographic glass plates were manufactured – ARGUS (for press photographers), LUMAX and TRICOLOR (for amateurs). Later on some more types were introduced, among them those special for aerial photography.
In 1938 the company was taken over by Van der Vorm as N.V. Ned. Fotografische Industrie [NFI] and later existed under trade name DALCO.
