Business stationery (cover) used by the company ANTOINE LUMIERE & ses Fils Société Anonymé des Plaques & Papiers Photographiques in Lyon-Monplaisir (France), manufacturer of photographic plates and papers. CLAUDE-ANTOINE LUMIÈRE (1840 – 1911) employed his sons Auguste and Louis Lumière, who in 1893 have taken over the company. They performed their own experiments with cinematography and photography, and in 1907 introduced the first commercially successful color photographic material and relevant process AUTOCHROME.
