Type: cover

Country: Germany (Third Reich)

Date of use: 5 September 1938

Business stationery (postcard, back of) used by the factory FRANZ KOCHMANN Fabrik Fotografische Apparate in Dresden (Germany), manufacturer of cameras. The factory was founded by Franz Kochmann (1873 – 1956) in 1921 in Dresden to produce folding cameras upon his own patented design. From 1924 several models of Enolde and Korelle cameras were manufactured, of which the SLR camera Reflex Korelle (launched in 1935) was the manufacturer’s biggest success.
The text is a reply of the manufacturer to the purchaser of a Reflex Korelle on the case of “making a reduction ring from 59 mm to 54 mm, but only when the lens holder is short enough (the point was to ensure that the lens could focus at infinity)”.
