Maxicard (front of) with the stamp (I) of a 3-stamp set (+ souvenir sheet) issued to honor the VICENTE GOMES da SILVA (1827 - 1906), photographer. The photographic studio, established by Vicente Gomes da Silva in 1856, was later run by four generations of successors of the family. Presently, the “studio Vicente” was adapted for museum “Museu de Fotografia da Madeira”. The card presents a stamp showing portrait of Vicente Gomes da Silva, upon the background of entry to his photographic studio. The left-hand illustration presents the image of a camera Kodak no. 3A (Folding autographic special, of 1916).
