Stamp, of a 4-stamp set issued in form of a souvenir sheet issued to commemorate the centenary of the Polish Patent Office. It stamp honors two inventors of bulletproof vests - Kazimierz Żegleń, and → JAN SZCZEPANIK (1872 – 1926), inventor in the field of design of weaving machines, of television, of film and of color photography. Jan Szczepanik became known around the world in 1902, when a carriage lined with bulletproof fabric of his design saved the life of King Alfonso XIII of Spain, from the bombing assassination attempt.
