Stamp issued in form of a souvenir sheet, issued to commemorate 90th anniversary of birth of ERNESTO GUEVARA (1928 – 1967) [90ème anniversaire de naissance de Ernesto Che Guevara], Argentine Marxist revolutionary, author, guerilla leader – major figure in Cuban Revolution. The stamp present him as a photographer. A photograph of Guevara holding a 35 mm SLR camera, upon which the design of the stamp is based, was taken in 1963 by French photographer Roger Pic (1920 – 2001).
