Business stationery (cover) used by the company NEUE PHOTOGRAPHISCHE GE$SELLSCHAFT G. m. b. H. in Dresden (Germany). (NPG) in Dresden, a factory that successfully marketed bromide photographic paper production “by the kilometre”, and automatic printing of photographs and postcards, using patents and machinery from American company Rotograph of New York. The company was founded in 1894 by Arthur Schwarz (1862 – 1944) in Berlin-Schoeneberg and established with time branches in many European towns. The postage stamps on the cover are “perfins” – i. e. stamps bearing small round holes punched to form pattern of letters or marks characteristic for the firm’s name.
