Stamp of a 5-stamp set commemorating the centenary of Cultural Festival and Competition JERSEY EISTEDDFOD in Jersey. It was founded in 1908 by the Dean of Jersey who saw its competitive classes as a means by which the speech, presentation, and musical standards of his fellow islanders might be improved. The festival currently is held twice a year – in March (Spring Festival) “Festival of Creative Arts”; and in November (Autumn Festival) “Festival of Performing Arts”.
