Postcard showing reproduction of a painting by Pascal Adolphe Jean DAGNAN-BOUVERET (1852 – 1929), French artist, one of the leading painters of the naturalist school. He was one of the first to use the then new medium of photography to bring the greater realism to his paintings. The artwork “Wedding photography” [“Une noce chez le photographe”], oil on canvas, was created in 1878 – 1879.
