Commemorative cover (sent to the Moscow Society of Collectors) issued to honor the 1st anniversary of the achievement of unmanned space probe LUNA 3 (aka LUNIK 3) that on 7 October 1959 photographed the other (dark) side of the Moon and transferred the image onto Earth. The special cancel shows a drawing of the probe, and the cachet shows imaginary graphic representation of the photograph of the invisible side of the Moon.
