Business stationery (unused postcard, back of) used as order form by SPENCER LENS Company in Buffalo (New York, USA). Charles A. Spencer (1813 - 1881), called “father of American microscopy”, opened his first optical business at age of 25, as a manufacturer of microscopes and telescopes. After his death, the business was carried on by his son Herbert who later introduced also production of photographic lenses.
