Business stationery (cover) used by the studio J[ames] W[allace] BLACK & Co. [established 1840] in Boston (Massachusetts, USA), “photographic artist”. James W. Black (1825 – 1896) offered in his studio all types of photographic services. He was also pioneer of aerial photography in the USA, his photographs of Boston taken in 1860 were signed “Boston, as the Eagle and the Wild Goose See It”. They were taken on 13 October 1860 by J. W. Black and Samuel Archer King.
