Stamp, in form of a souvenir sheet, issued to honor centenary of birth of Sir PETER MARKHAM SCOTT (1909 – 1989), British ornithologist, conservationist and painter. He had been founder of World Wide Fund for Nature. For his contribution to the conservation of wild animals he was knighted in 1973. With his wife Philippa he had been photographing wildlife to illustrate his numerous books on nature.
