CLAUDE-ANTOINE LUMIÈRE (1840 – 1911) employed his sons Auguste and Louis Lumière, who in 1893 have taken over the company. They performed their own experiments with cinematography and in 1907 introduced the first commercially successful color photographic material and relevant process AUTOCHROME.
