Business stationery (cover) used by photographic studio owned by W. [William] H.[Howard] TIPTON (1850 - 1929) “Battlefield photographer” of Gettysburg (Pennsylvania, USA). He studied photography as an apprentice of the brothers Charles and Isaac Tyson, who were among the earliest Gettysburg photographers. In 1868 Tipton purchased much of assets of the Tyson studio and went into business for himself.
