Stamp, part of a 15-stamp set “20th Century 1900 – 1909”, issued in form of a pane, presenting various important events and achievements of the period. The stamp shows graphic representation of a photograph by American sociologist and photographer → LEWIS W. HINE (1874 – 1940) “Looking for Lost Baggage [Ellis Island 1905]”. The version of the image was colorized, and a changed background was added showing view of Statue of Liberty, and an image of a man in hat carrying large package.
