Business stationery (postcard for reply, back of, stamped but not used postally) used by the company E. [Emil] BIEBER Hofphotograph in Berlin (Germany), photographic portrait studio. August Emil Julius Berlin Bieber (1878 – 1962) trained as a photographer from 1897, and in 1902 he and his father took over the photography studios in Hamburg and Berlin, established in 1850s, passed down to them by his great-uncle Emilie Bieber. Under the direction of Emil Berlin-Bieber, the photo studio "E. Bieber" was one of the most important for portrait photography in Germany. Numerous photos of famous people from the world of politics, science and culture were created. Bieber was one of the first photographers who also took portraits outside the studio. In 1905, on the occasion of his wedding, Prince William gave him the title of supplier of the court [Hofphotograph].
