Postal card (unused) issued on the occasion of Philatelic Exhibition in Palermo (Italy), that commemorated the WW II OPERATION "HUSKY" (Allied Forces' invasion of Sicily in 1943).
The cachet shows a stylized reproduction of Robert Capa's (1913 - 1954) photograph presenting Italian peasant pointing with a stick to an American soldier the way which German troops had gone.
The (CTO) cancel depressed on the postcard presents an outline of the same image.
