Type: cover

Country: Poland (under German occupation)

Date of use: 27 November 1941

Business stationery (cover) used by the company J. FRANASZEK S.A. in Warsaw (Warszawa, Poland), photochemical factory manufacturing photographic films, plates and papers. The company was owned by two Franaszek brothers – Jerzy ( ? – 1943), and Kazimierz (1902 – 1944), who were successors of the company’ founder Józef Franaszek (1840 – 1916). The factory worked under Polish management until August 1944, when it was destroyed by German forces during the Warsaw Uprising.
The only building of the Franaszek factory (the FOTO department) that survived WWII was in 1949 rebuilt and included (with the former Lebiedzinski factory) in the state enterprise Warszawskie Zakłady Fototechniczne FOTON.
