Postcard (back of) used by a resident of Essen (Germany) to order one copy of monthly newsletter “Mitteilungen aus den Leonar-Werken” [“Messages from Leonar Works”]. The publisher’s note said: “If you would like them to be sent free of charge, please fill out the attached order form and send it to us”. The company LEONAR-WERKE Arndt & Löwengardt in Wandsbek was a manufacturer of photographic materials (plates, films, papers and chemicals), and earlier – also cameras. Originally established as Dr. Lüttke & Arndt in 1895, since 1905 the company took the name LEONAR-WERKE Arndt & Löwengard, when Dr. Lüttke was replaced by Ernst Löwengard. In 1964 the company was incorporated into AGFA AG.
