Type: cover

Country: Switzerland

Date of use: 1970s

Business stationery (cover) used by the company SINAR AG in Schaffhausen (Switzerland), manufacturer of professional large format view cameras. The company was founded in 1879 by Carl August Koch (1845 – 1897), initially as a photographic portrait studio. From1911 the company was expanding into selling photographic materials and equipment, and also into service of amateur photographers and, after WWII, into camera production. In 1970 Sinar introduced Sinar-P, a monorail camera having asymmetric tilts and swings, what permitted rapid and precise settings without losing sharpness on the axis.
