Telegram (front of) addressed to Eng. Markocki [inż. Władysław Markocki] at ALFA (Garbary, Bydgoszcz), Photographic Plate Factory ALFA [Fabryka Płyt Fotograficznych ALFA], that was seized during German occupation of World War II (1939 - 1945) and named Fabrik Fotochemischer Erzeugnisse OPTA [Photochemical products factory OPTA] in Bromberg (Bydgoszcz, Poland). The telegram has been hand written by postal clerk on a German delivery note form (typed in Polish), that was taken from preserved stationery resources left behind by the former occupiers.
W. Markocki (1911 – 1993), photochemical scientist, was in the years 1936 – 1939 working for ALFA as a head of research laboratory. During the time he made syntheses of over 100 dyes used as sensitizers for silver halides in the region of visible and infrared light radiation.
