Business stationery (cover) used by the SIGNAL CORPS PHOTOGRAPHIC CENTER of US War Department. The US Army Signal Corps was established by US Congress on 3 March 1863. It was in charge of communications systems support for the armed forces. The photographic section of the Signal Corps was established in June 1917 and it was responsible for the US Army’s official ground and aerial photography of World War I. The same activity was continued during WW II.
