W Romer spent the Second World War in Great Britain where he got via France. There he used his knowledge working first for the company Kodak Limited in Harrow (Middlesex) and later for RAF in Farnborough (Hampshire), in the Royal Aircraft Establishment.
Having a position of a senior scientific officer, he made some improvements in the construction of cameras for aerial photographs and, on the prototype he has built up personally, he showed their suitability for military purposes. As a result of an unlucky circumstances, his idea was not implemented.
