Business stationery (postcard, back of) used by the company Photographische Manufaktur RICHARD KNOLL in Leipzig-Oetzsch (Germany), manufacturer of photographic lenses and (later) also cameras. The company was founded by Richard Knoll in 1892 in Leipzig (Germany) as Photo Spezialhaus – a workshop dealing with cameras and a repair shop. He left the company in 1905 but his successor (Emil Hofert) kept the company’s name using his Knoll's until about 1920. It was moved to Dresden in 1910 and from 1927 production of simple box cameras (“Altissa Box” offered under various names – “Fotka”, “Juwel”) was started.
