The company was established by Claude Constant Laval (1882 – 1966), commonly known as Pop Laval who, in almost 55-year long photographic activity, has made about one hundred thousand negatives documenting San Joaquin Valley in California (with special interest to Fresno) and Sierra Nevada Mountains (with Ansel Adams). The topics included various aspects of life in the Central Valley, including but not limited to, agricultural practices, city-wide events, family gatherings, and even infrastructural change. His legacy is managed by his heirs.
